The 2026 Korle Gonno Street Festival has been officially launched, setting the stage for a vibrant celebration of sports, arts, and community pride in one of Accra’s most culturally rich neighborhoods.
The third edition of the festival, organized by “9Tis Crew”, was unveiled at Oceanic Beach Resort on Saturday under the theme “Welcoming Our Heroes.” This year’s event will honor outstanding figures from Korle Gonno who have excelled in music, sports, and business, reflecting the area’s deep well of talent and creativity.
From dancehall icon Shatta Wale to Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and celebrated boxers like Bukom Banku, the festival shines a spotlight on individuals who have elevated the community’s name on global stages.
Guests at the launch were treated to a short film on Korle Gonno’s history, alongside cultural displays and the unveiling of this year’s festival ambassadors.
The main festival, scheduled for August 7–9 on Rodger Avenue, promises a dynamic fusion of live music, sporting showcases, and cultural performances, celebrating the spirit and resilience of Korle Gonno.
