Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has expressed grief and frustration following the sudden death of his father, describing the loss as both painful and deeply personal.

In an emotional social media post on February 15, 2026, Ofosu Nkansah appeared to reference recent events surrounding his arrest, suggesting that he had sought permission to spend more time in Kumasi to observe his ailing father.

“Those with power now who refused my request to spend more time in Kumasi to observe my seriously sick old boy too I thank you. I guess you are happy now,” he wrote.

Earlier, he had announced the passing of his father in a separate message that has since drawn widespread sympathy.

“My Dad has never fallen sick aside going to hospital every quarter for his routine check-ups and within a week he is gone just like that. Hmmmm. Agyapa, da yie,” he stated, using an Akan phrase meaning “Father, rest well.”

According to him, the sudden nature of the loss has left the family devastated and searching for strength to cope.

Ofosu Nkansah was recently arrested and granted bail of GH¢500,000 over allegations of publishing false news, following comments he made on the radio regarding alleged irregularities in the award of government-funded scholarships.

He was charged by the National Intelligence Bureau, which continues its investigations.

The latest post is widely seen as a reference to the circumstances surrounding those developments.
