Ghanaian highlife sensation Kofi Kinaata has taken to social media to share humorous appeal to his fans ahead of the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

The ceremony is slated for tonight, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

Ahead of this big night, the multiple award-winning musician, who has secured three nominations at this year’s awards, expressed strong confidence in sweeping all his categories.

He jokingly revealed that he desperately needs the awards to “fill empty spaces” in his trophy cabinet.

“Tomorrow’s TGMAs is all about filling in the empty spaces, I want to fill all these corners with awards. So, God willing, I am winning Highlife Artiste of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Record of the Year, ” Kinataa stated hilariously.

The Effiakuma Broken Heart hitmaker also added a other layer of laughter when he playful disclosed a dilemma he is currently in because of his mother, Auntie Ama.

He mentioned that he used her name for his nominated song Auntie Ama and the fact that he is afraid that if the song record of the Year, she will be demanding for money from him, even though the award is only a plaque, without any cash.

“There’s a little issue with Record of the Year because I named that song after my mother. She keeps asking me for the money from it,” he joked.

He also added that: “Social media lawyers, please explain to my mother that the award comes with a plaque, not money. In fact, we want the plaque more than the money.”
