Ghana Beach Soccer Committee Chairman, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah Ghana Beach Soccer Committee Chairman, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah

Chairman of the Beach Soccer Committee of the Ghana Football Association, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has stated that Minister-designate of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, will excel in his new role.

According to him, President John Dramani Mahama and his team’s decision to nominate Adams for the position demonstrates that he has the potential to run the sports ministry.

Ampofo Ankrah noted that the Member of Parliament for Buem constituency possesses the necessary qualities, including temperament, to assert his authority and ensure duties are performed responsibly, allowing the sector to flourish.

He called on the public to give Adams the necessary support, despite his limited reputation in sports-related activities.

“He has gained the trust and confidence of the president to run the sports and recreation ministry. He has the right temperament- quiet and assertive.

“He will get the job done. He knows how to move things. Regardless of his limited popularity in the sports industry, he will be supported with the resources to succeed,” he said during an interview with Max TV.

His comment follows President John Mahama’s nomination of Kofi Adams, as the Minister-designate of Sports and Recreation.

In a statement released on January 21, 2024, it was noted that Adams will spearhead affairs in the sports sector, as well as recreational activities.

His nomination is pending parliamentary approval after he undergoes the vetting process by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.
