Kofi Adams has visited injured athletes at the University of Ghana Medical Centre during the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championships Accra 2026.

The Sports and Recreation Minister was accompanied by Bawa Fuseini as they interacted with the injured competitors and medical personnel to assess the condition of the athletes receiving treatment.

The visit formed part of efforts by Ghanaian authorities and athletics officials to ensure the welfare and recovery of athletes participating in the continental championship hosted in Accra. During the visit, Hon. Kofi Adams commended the medical staff of UGMC for their professionalism, dedication, and swift response in attending to injured athletes throughout the competition.

Officials also praised the level of medical care being provided at the facility, which has played a key role in supporting athletes during the championship.

The gesture was widely viewed as a strong show of solidarity and compassion, highlighting the spirit of unity and humanity that continues to define African sports beyond the competition on the track and field.
