Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has urged the Black Stars to seek redemption when they face Comoros in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday October 12, 2025.

Ghana will be aiming to avenge past defeats to the island nation, having lost to Comoros at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon and again during the earlier stages of the current qualification campaign in Moroni.

Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, Adams, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, called on the team to combine determination with caution.

“On Sunday, it is a revenge against Comoros. We have lost to them twice, and that was during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the second game of the qualifiers in Moroni, and so we need to win on Sunday,” he told Adom FM.

“But then also, we have to tread cautiously against Comoros not to think that we have a goal advantage over the teams, but the point is that we must get revenge against them.”

The minister also appealed to Ghanaians to fill the Accra Sports Stadium and rally behind the team as they push for a place at next year’s World Cup.

“I urge Ghanaians to come to the Accra Sports Stadium in their numbers to support the team.
