Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams has pledged to strengthen collaboration with sports journalists to build a sustainable sports ecosystem in Ghana.

Speaking at a meeting with leaders of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), the Minister underscored the media’s critical role in promoting accountability and advancing sports development. He highlighted plans to support capacity building for journalists and improve transparency in the management of sports resources.

According to Adams, empowering the media will help tackle persistent challenges in infrastructure and talent development while ensuring greater public engagement in sports governance.

SWAG leaders welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely step toward deepening cooperation between the media and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation. They expressed confidence that the partnership would enhance policy advocacy and public awareness.

The Minister assured that joint programs, including training workshops and support for investigative journalism, would soon be introduced to strengthen the sector.
