Tilly Akua Nipaa explains the meaning behind King Promise's performance Tilly Akua Nipaa explains the meaning behind King Promise’s performance

Media personality and entertainment journalist Tilly Akua Nipaa has offered insight into the meaning behind King Promise’s performance at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).

Speaking during a discussion on Joy Prime TV, Tilly, who served as the official Public Relations Officer for King Promise in the lead-up to the awards night, revealed that the performance was a tribute to the global journey of King Promise’s music.

She noted that the 21 national flags displayed during the performance of Continental represented the 21 countries the Afrobeats artiste toured in 2024.

According to her, each flag symbolised King Promise’s effort to take Ghanaian music to the world.

“The flags represent the 21 countries that King Promise visited in 2024 as part of his tour. So every flag you saw there, he took Ghanaian music there, and that’s why when he went home with the Artiste of the Year award, it was no joke. Every flag you saw, he had been there with his music,” she explained.

The night was a major triumph for the Paris hitmaker, who walked away with four awards in total.

These included the coveted Artiste of the Year, EP/Album of the Year, Best Afropop/Afrobeat Artiste of the Year, and Best Afropop Song of the Year for Paris.
