Ghanaian musician King Paluta has sparked mixed reactions on social media after a viral video showed him performing at a National Democratic Congress (NDC) rally.

In the video, shared on X on December 2, 2024, King Paluta was seen entertaining a lively crowd gathered at the campaign event of Jomoro MP, Docas Affo-Toffey, who doubles as socialite Fantana’s mother.

Paluta got the crowd energised as he performed his hit song, “Apicki,” and even danced with Fantana at one point.

This development comes after King Paluta has been spotted at several New Patriotic Party (NPP) events, where he has performed and interacted with notable figures such as NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka “Chairman Wontumi.”

While some fans have praised King Paluta’s ability to work with both political parties and see it as a smart business move, others have criticised him for his perceived lack of loyalty.

He has been accused of being a “stomach musician” and has faced calls for “cancellation” some from fans who view his actions as opportunistic.

As Ghana heads toward the December 7, 2024 elections, political parties have intensified their campaigns, with musicians like Paluta being sought after to perform at rallies and help energise supporters.
