DJ Slim described King Paluta as ‘strong headed’
Ghanaian DJ and industry insider DJ Slim has lambasted rapper King Paluta following the latter’s explosive outburst at a recent event in London.
Paluta’s performance at the All‑White Boat Party turned sour when, during his set at the high-profile party, Paluta reportedly became agitated when a guest appeared unresponsive to his performance.
In a viral video, the Aseda hitmaker was seen angrily berating the attendee, claiming he needed to “free his mind.”
The incident drew swift criticism, with media critic Bullgod highlighting how Paluta’s underground roots made the display especially disappointing.
In an interview on GhanaWeb’s X spaces on July 11, 2025, DJ Slim slammed Paluta’s behaviour and described it as “way above the line.”
Slim, who has had a personal relationship with King Paluta, described the artiste as someone known to be “strong-headed,” narrating an incident in Kumasi even before his rise to fame.
“He is quite known for these things, he is very strong-headed, even before he got hit songs like Makoma and Aseda. He was like that.
“There was an issue in Kumasi when he was billed to perform. He didn’t show up and the frustrated fans decided to ransack the equipment of the media house and the organisers. The issue got back to me and when I reached out, he said he would not apologise or address the issue,” he said.
Addressing the incident, DJ Slim said, “Right now we are not on talking terms… I know he is strong-headed, but this is way above the line.”
Slim further expressed concern that Paluta’s recently acquired fame may be fueling erratic behavior.
“I have dealt with artistes from the group up, and some of these things are as a result of fame. People experience fame for the first time and cannot handle it… we can only pray for him,” he added.
He further expressed fears that the artiste may not have anyone to guide him since he has “disrespected his godfathers” in the industry.
“Because as it stands now, I do not know anybody who can sit him down and talk to him. Because most of his godfathers, he has disrespected them, so I do not know who can talk to him,” he said.
The incident has prompted outcry on social media, with many accusing Paluta of straying from professionalism and respect.
Meanwhile, King Plauta nor his management have addressed the incident.
