The heartwarming moment an Arizona teenager selflessly helped an elderly stranger on the street has been caught on video.
Jordan Hope, 18, was driving by a Walgreens parking lot in Maricopa on Sunday when he saw an old man moving slowly using a walker.
‘I looked at his feet and his shoes were like maybe a fourth on his foot,’ Hope told Arizona’s Family.
‘I just felt like God told me to go over there, turn around and just give him some new slides.
‘So I took off my own shoes. I gave them to him, and I just felt like I brought maybe a peace in his life.’
Hope then got back into his car and began to drive off, but said something told him to turn back.
He eventually found the man inside the Walgreens trying to buy candy. Hope then paid for the man’s items, and later learned the man’s wife had died just two weeks earlier.
‘That honestly broke my heart. I just think he needed a friend… It’s hard asking for help sometimes. And I’m just glad that God brought me there in that moment to just show my light on other people,’ Hope said.

Hope wanted to take the man to Culver’s for lunch but a medical condition made it difficult for him to get into Hope’s car.
The generous teen then called a rideshare, met him at the restaurant and later helped him get home.
Hope and the man, who he calls Mr Roy, have stayed in touch since. A GoFundMe page has been launched hoping to raise money for Mr Roy.
Unbeknownst to him, Hope’s random act of kindness was caught on camera by a stranger, Yareli Madrid, who later shared it to social media.
‘Watching this young man take the shoes off his own feet and give them to an older man who needed them truly touched my heart,’ Madrid wrote alongside the video.
‘What makes it even more special is that he did it without anyone watching, without cameras, without expecting recognition or praise. He simply saw someone in need and helped from the goodness of his heart.
‘If this is your son, you did something right. Please know he is amazing.’
One of Hope’s old teachers saw the video and recognized him, alerting him to the footage.
‘I had no idea. I saw a truck facing me and I did not know what they were doing. And then the next day after I found out that it was on Facebook, I was like, whoa,’ Hope said.

Hope credited his parents and his faith for motivating him to help the man.
‘I knew a tug pulled on my heart, and it was definitely from God… He interrupted my plans for that day to carry on his plans,’ he said.
‘I’m just a man trying to spread positivity in the Lord’s work.’
