As part of efforts to improve quality healthcare delivery, the KGL Foundation has completed extensive renovation works at the Physiotherapy Centre of the Tema General Hospital, providing a much-needed facelift and functional upgrade to the facility.

As the leading referral hospital in the industrial city, strategically located near three major highways (Tema–Accra Motorway, Tema–Aflao Highway, and Tema–Akosombo Highway), the hospital also serves patients from nearby communities including Ashaiman, Afienya, Dawhenya, and Prampram, among others.

The project included the procurement of modern gym equipment and air conditioners, as well as the refurbishment of the staff common room, kitchen, and gym areas.

Additional works involved electrical rewiring, upgrading the entire lighting system, and installing new fans and ceilings to enhance safety and comfort for both staff and clients.

These improvements have transformed the centre into a more conducive and fully functional environment, enabling it to deliver essential wellness services more effectively to the community.

The Chief Executive Officer of the KGL Foundation, Elliot Dadey, said, “Healthcare in Ghana remains deeply underfunded; hence the decision to embark on this philanthropic gesture.”

The Medical Director and Consultant General Surgeon at Tema General Hospital, Dr Richard Anthony, described the initiative as timely, adding that it would significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide quality healthcare.

“It will help improve quality of care and reduce the need for patients to travel to central Accra for physiotherapy services,” he noted.
