Rising Ghanaian football academy, Kenpong Football Academy, based in Winneba, has firmed up a cooperation agreement with Danish Premiership side, Sonderjyske, requiring the academy to send a team to Denmark annually for a series of training opportunities and exposure to world class facilities and experience.

Sonderjyske has also expressed interest in the immediate recruitment of two players from the Kenpong Academy who impressed during a visit by leading officials of the Danish club led by its President and Chief Executive Officer, Markus Kristopher Hansen.

The delegation of three were in Ghana from Tuesday November 31 to Saturday November 30 during which they visited the Winneba facility of Kenpong Football Academy to observe the operation established by football mogul and reputable businessman, Kennedy Agyepong, popularly referred to as Kenpong.

The delegation which included Oliver Lindorf Jessen and Leon Constantin Sievert, said they were impressed with the facilities at the Academy were keen to enter into a partnership with Kennedy Agyepong to provide extensive technical support for the Academy while recruiting some of the great talent being developed at the facility.

Kenpong Academy CEO, Kennedy Agyepong said having visited Sonderjyske earlier this year, the leadership of the Danish Club were keen to visit Ghana to witness the developments in Winneba for themselves.

“They have now visited and seen the capacity and capabilities of the Academy and are ready to work with us to further develop the Academy while taking advantage of our talent. It is a win-win situation and we are going to cooperate with them to ensure that this partnership is significantly developed.

“I am keen to ensure that Kenpong Football Academy becomes the best training facility on the continent for the youth. I have a few players from other parts of the continent here and intend to expand the facility to accommodate more talent,” Agyepong stated.

As part of the visit, the Danish delegation, called on the Danish Ambassador to Ghana, Tom Norring alongside Mr. Kennedy Agyepong, to inform him of their intentions to invest in Ghana.

A visit to the Academy’s Chief Patron, President John Agyekum Kufuor was suspended at the last minute because the former President lost a close family member hours before the scheduled meeting.
