Ghanaian musician Kelvyn Boy has reflected on his time with Stonebwoy and admitted that his loyalty to the dancehall star once pushed him into making insulting remarks about Shatta Wale.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Kelvyn Boy recalled how tensions between the two dancehall heavyweights influenced some of his actions while he was associated with Stonebwoy.
According to him, there were moments when loyalty to Stonebwoy meant defending his camp and directing insults at Shatta Wale, something he now looks back on with regret.

Kelvyn Boy said his perspective changed after he eventually met Shatta Wale in person. He described the musician as a free-spirited individual and recalled how Shatta Wale reached out to Medikal after listening to their song, “Excellent”.
The encounter left a strong impression on Kelvyn Boy, particularly because Shatta Wale was willing to put their previous differences aside despite the attacks he had received from people associated with Stonebwoy’s camp.
He acknowledged that Shatta Wale had every reason to be offended by some of the things he had said in the past. However, the dancehall artiste chose to forgive him when they eventually met.

Kelvyn Boy also recalled that he was not the only person caught up in the rivalry between the two camps. He said members of Stonebwoy’s Militants camp also used him during the period, leading to situations where things were said in the name of loyalty.
He admitted that he now feels bad about taking sides, stressing that his actions were largely influenced by where he found himself at the time.
The musician further addressed a recent post by rapper Sarkodie in which he spoke about fans using loyalty as a justification to insult other artistes.
Kelvyn Boy agreed with Sarkodie’s observation, saying he had personally experienced the behaviour during his time with Stonebwoy.
He explained that loyalty sometimes became a reason for people in the camp to attack artistes from the opposing side, and he admitted that he also participated in that culture.
Kelvyn Boy further stated that he regrets allowing the rivalry to influence his actions. He maintained that despite the divisions that may exist within the music industry, he has love for all the artistes involved.
