The heartbroken parents of two young mechanics who were run over and killed on the job have left court in tears as the woman charged with their deaths hunkered down in a nearby Hungry Jacks.

Kelly Renee Liddicoat made a dash from Maroochydore Magistrates Court to the Hungry Jacks next door after her first appearance over the April 21 deaths of 25-year-old Aaron Pitt and Lleyton Bartlett, 22.

The 43-year-old is charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a car causing death. Police allege she was under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

Liddicoat is accused of ploughing into the two young tradies as they tried to fix a broken down bus on Nambour Connection Road on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

After the very brief mention, in which her bail was continued, Liddicoat, her lawyer and two other women made the short walk to Hungry Jacks, where they sat for close to an hour.

They were seen chatting easily as they sipped on coffees in the far corner of the store.

Her lawyer was the first to leave and refused to comment on Liddicoat’s case or her decision to hunker down in Hungry Jacks after court.

Minutes later, one of the two women supporting Liddicoat also left the store to bring her early model Holden Commodore directly to the front door.

Acting as a chauffeur, the woman shouted and pushed waiting media out of the way as she ushered Liddicoat into the backseat of the car.

Liddicoat will return to court on August 19 and will remain on bail in the meantime.

She is required to report to police weekly at her local station and must not get behind the wheel of a car.

One of the victim’s grieving relatives previously expressed concern over Liddicoat’s seemingly relaxed bail conditions, noting she appeared ‘free to go on with her life’ while facing such serious charges.

‘We just don’t know how we will ever be able to recover,’ he said.

Mr Pitt and Mr Bartlett’s grieving families left court in tears after the brief mention.

On May 10, Liddicoat and a companion, believed to be her mother, left home about midday toward Kmart in Maroochydore.

The women were seen shopping for clothing before heading 30 minutes north to Noosa’s main shopping precinct.

There, Liddicoat attended a lengthy appointment before joining the other woman in the street to chain smoke cigarettes and make several phone calls.

She refused to comment when approached by Daily Mail Australia.

‘He was doing so much with his life and really living life well and that has been a comfort for us knowing he was so happy,’ the eulogy read.

‘We should all live like Aaron did, making the most of every minute, doing the things that give us joy, being with people we love and relishing every moment of every day.’

The 25-year-old had only recently been awarded apprentice of the year and was adored by his colleagues.

Meanwhile, Mr Bartlett was farewelled on Friday, May 13.

The 22-year-old has been remembered as a talented hockey player who was a Maroochydore junior, senior, and Sunshine Coast rep player up to only two years ago.

Paramedics rushed the pair to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in critical conditions but they couldn’t be saved.
