He said he will not just ‘sit back and hope for the best’ adding that was why politics had previously failed.

Keir Starmer has started his speech at the Jaguar Land Rover by telling the British car industry, ‘we will back you to the hilt’.
The Prime Minister said it was time for ‘cool heads’ and adds that ‘no-one wins from a trade war’.
His remarks come as Rachel Reeves says the UK will ‘continue to make the case for free, fair and open trade’.
