The heat of the summer and the competition in training camp often leads to rising tensions among teammates. The Kansas City Chiefs are no exception as a pair of fights broke out on Saturday.

As the team prepares for the season, tempers flared between offense and defense on two separate occasions.

One skirmish took place between safety Alohi Gilman and recent acquisition and Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker.

Walker, the former Seattle Seahawks running back, was handed the ball and headed out of bounds to end a play in 11-on-11 drills.

Gilman was racing over to tackle Walker and appeared to shove him after the play had ended.

Walker didn’t take too kindly to this and the pair butted heads. Gilman walked away and turned his back to Walker, allowing the rusher the perfect chance to sprint after him and tackle him to the ground.

Chiefs players got into two fights in Saturday practice, including this above fight which started when safety Alohi Gilman shoved RB Kenneth Walker (9) after a play had ended

After some jawing, Walker then charged Gilman and tackled him - leading to teammates needing to intervene in order to break up the fighting

Multiple teammates, including tight end Travis Kelce, raced over to break up the fight as the two continued to tussle on the ground.

Eventually, cooler heads prevailed and the two were able to walk away without any further issues.

In a separate altercation, offensive lineman Kingsley Suamataia and defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah threw punches at each other.

Suamataia appears to have ripped off Anudike-Uzomah’s helmet before throwing a punch. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid were among those who stepped in to stop the fracas.

In recent days, Mahomes has opened up about the intense nature of the camps.

‘Yeah, six straight days of just going against the same guys,’ Mahomes said. ‘And just being competitive, I think that’s what’s been great about this campus.

‘It’s super competitive on both sides, and so a little scuffles here and there, but nothing crazy. And as long as we keep it like that and keep competing, that’s where you get the best football team you can get.’
