The Kabore Group of Companies on Friday donated hospital bedding valued at GH¢150,000 to the Bawku Hospital in the Upper East Region and Kpalugu Health Centre in the Northern Region.

The donation included mattresses, bedsheets, pillowcases, adult diapers, baby diapers, and detergents to support healthcare delivery in the conflict-prone and underprivileged areas.

It formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts, aimed at improving healthcare delivery in underserved communities.

Presenting the items, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kabore Group of Companies, Alhaji Hamidu Kabore, emphasised the need for individuals and organisations to support under-resourced communities and institutions.

He noted that the ongoing conflict in Bawku had negatively impacted development in the region, particularly healthcare services.

“Sick people in impoverished and conflict-prone areas face higher risks, but well-resourced hospitals can improve service delivery to save lives,” he said.

Alhaji Kabore further urged citizens and organisations to support government initiatives in order to enhance development in deprived areas.

Alhaji Kabore also called on other individuals and organisations to emulate their gesture to help address pressing societal needs.

Receiving the items on behalf of the health facilities, the Human Resource Manager of the Bawku Hospital, Ms Alberta Awabre, expressed gratitude to the Kabore Group for the support.

She assured that the donated items would be properly maintained and utilised to improve healthcare services in Bawku and surrounding communities.

“The items will go a long way in supporting healthcare activities and enhancing service delivery at the facilities.”

“This donation will surely help strengthen healthcare delivery in the two facilities, providing much-needed support to patients and healthcare workers in the region,” she added.

Ms Awabre mentioned that additional support was crucial to ensure patients in the region received the best possible care.

She again noted that while the donation was significant, the health facilities still required more assistance to meet the growing needs of the communities they serve.

Moreover, she stated that the conflict in Bawku had deeply affected all aspects of life in the area, particularly the health sector.

The strain on resources and infrastructure, she said, has made it challenging for healthcare providers to deliver quality services, underscoring the importance of continued support from stakeholders.
