Algerian giants, JS Kabylie, touched down in Ghana on Thursday, September 18, 2025, for their CAF Champions League preliminary round clash with Bibiani Gold Stars FC. However, it wasn’t just their boots and kits that caught attention: their pillows too did.

The Kabylie squad was spotted arriving with personal pillows in tow, a quirky detail that has since gone viral on social media.

For a team that has traveled across North Africa to West Africa, comfort clearly comes first, and the Algerians are making sure they feel right at home ahead of Saturday’s showdown at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Gold Stars, making their debut in the CAF Champions League, are expected to have the backing of their supporters in the capital, with the match scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 3:00 PM GMT.

The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League champions are chasing history, aiming to build on their maiden league triumph by stepping confidently onto Africa’s biggest club stage.

But standing in their way is a side with pedigree. JS Kabylie, one of Algeria’s most successful clubs, have vast experience in continental competitions, and their decision to carry their pillows has been interpreted as a sign of preparation and seriousness.

The tie will be decided over two legs, with the return fixture in Algeria next weekend.
