Joyce Blessing is in the news because of her 2024 Ghana DJ Awards dress choice, which has generated a lot of controversy online. The gospel performer has drawn criticism for donning a two-piece black ensemble with a “dramatic” side split that some have thought was unsuitable.

The skirt featured a lengthy thigh slit that was lined with nude mesh fabric that was intended to give the appearance of naked skin. Many internet users considered the nude fabric contentious, even if it may appear from the first glimpse that her skin is exposed.

By pointing out that the split only revealed a light-colored cloth rather than her actual skin, some Joyce Blessing supporters have defended her attire. Others, on the other hand, think that a gospel performer, particularly one who is well-known, ought to refrain from dressing in ways that can cause these kinds of emotions or draw unfair attention.

Conversely, Joyce has received appreciation from some followers for her audacity in embracing provocative looks and making a fashion statement. Joyce Blessing, meanwhile, responded to the uproar in a humorous way by posting a video to social media with the remark, “A lot of people are getting confused about my skirt.”
