Black Stars winger, Joseph Paintsil

Black Stars forward, Joseph Paintsil has turned his focus firmly to next year’s FIFA World Cup, stressing commitment, sacrifice and responsibility as Ghana prepares for the global showpiece.

Speaking about the task ahead, Paintsil noted that words alone will not be enough, insisting that actions on the pitch must define the team’s ambition.

“Sometimes you don’t have to talk about it, you have to know that this is the job we have to do,” he said. “We have to give everything we have for Ghanaians and for the badge.”

The winger highlighted the pride and pressure that come with wearing the national colours, noting that representing Ghana at the World Cup demands maximum effort, discipline and unity from every player.

The Black Stars have been paired in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
