Jordan Ayew made a brief appearance for Leicester City as they were held to a goalless draw by Watford in their Championship clash on Saturday, marking his final outing before joining the national team.
The Black Stars captain was introduced in the closing moments of the encounter but had limited time to make an impact as Leicester settled for a point. The result leaves the Foxes third in the Championship standings as they continue their push for promotion.
Ayew now shifts focus to international duty after being named in Otto Addo’s squad for Ghana’s upcoming pre-World Cup friendlies. The Black Stars are set to face Austria in Vienna on March 27 before taking on Germany in Stuttgart three days later.
The experienced forward has contributed five goals and three assists in 38 appearances this season. The friendlies form part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup, where they will compete in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
