Jordan Ayew has scored seven goals so far in the ongoing World Cup qualifiers Jordan Ayew has scored seven goals so far in the ongoing World Cup qualifiers

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup fast approaching, football nations across the world are battling fiercely to secure their spot on the grand stage.

Qualification is not just a walk in the park; it’s a journey marked by intense competition, national pride, and rivalries among players, countries, and fans.

On the African continent, Ghana has secured a good name for itself. The Black Stars are making headlines as they currently top the scoring charts in the ongoing FIFA World Cup African qualifiers.

With an impressive tally of 22 goals, Ghana stands as the highest-scoring African nation in the qualifiers so far.

This remarkable feat can largely be attributed to one man; Jordan Ayew.

World Cup Qualifiers: Black Stars likely XI against Comoros

At age 34, Ayew has defied all odds. The experienced forward has emerged as Africa’s most prolific attacker in the qualifiers, recording seven goals and seven assists in just nine matches. His contributions make him the single most influential player in Ghana’s campaign.

Despite the challenges and pressure that come with each tournament, Ayew has consistently been Ghana’s anchor. His glory moment came when he scored a hat-trick during the Ghana vs. Central African Republic game in Kumasi.

Once labelled a “Nepo baby” riding on his family legacy, Ayew has rewritten his narrative. He now reigns as the undisputed king of goals in this qualification run.

As the qualifiers continue, Ghana will look to preserve their attacking momentum while tightening their defense to secure early qualification.

When Ghana meets Comoros on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium, all eyes will be on the Black Stars, and particularly on Jordan Ayew to perform wonders on the pitch.

This will be another defining moment for Jordan to increase his goal tally and remind Ghanaians and football lovers what it means to be an all-time forward.
