    The Joseph Ashitey Hammond Foundation, in collaboration with the Ghana Armed Forces, is proud to announce the Centenary Celebration of Warrant Officer Class I (WOI) Joseph Ashitey Hammond, a revered figure in Ghana’s history. This milestone event honors his enduring legacy of service, peace, and development.

    Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 29, 2025, as the celebrations kick off with two exciting activities designed to unite communities, promote peace, and celebrate Ghana’s rich heritage.

    1. The Peace Walk

    Time: 5:40 AM Sharp

    Starting Point: T-Junction, La Palm Royal Beach Hotel

    Destination: El Wak Sports Stadium

    The day begins with a symbolic Peace Walk, a call to action for individuals and communities to take bold steps toward fostering peace and sustainable development. Participants will gather at the T-Junction near La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and walk together to the El Wak Sports Stadium. This event is open to all—families, friends, and peace enthusiasts—and promises to be a memorable experience.

    2. The Veterans Cup

    Time: 9:00 AM Sharp

    Venue: El Wak Sports Stadium

    Following the Peace Walk, the excitement continues with the Veterans Cup, a thrilling football match between two legendary teams:

    – Nii Ashitey Burma XI

    – Ghana Armed Forces XI

    This match is more than just a game; it’s a celebration of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and the enduring spirit of service. Football fans and supporters are encouraged to come out in numbers to cheer on their favorite teams.
