John Dumelo, wife among some of the beneficiaries
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has extended support to apprentices in the constituency by providing hair dryers and sewing machines.
According to Dumelo, this gesture is intended to help apprentices acquire the knowledge and experience needed to establish themselves in their respective trades.
The initiative, which took place on Friday, November 23, 2024, also aims to ensure that the apprentices have access to the necessary training materials to enhance their skills.
Speaking at the event, John Dumelo emphasized his commitment to helping the underprivileged, particularly those in the constituency, to improve their livelihoods.
“My aim is to see the constituents progress. I have been paying people’s school fees since 2012, and these are some of the basic things I have been doing all this while. I did the same last year, and this year, the number has increased. Next year, I aim to triple my efforts, should I be given the mandate,” he stated.
He also expressed confidence in winning the upcoming 2024 parliamentary elections.
“For the elections, I have already won in the spiritual realm. All that is left now is for it to materialize physically,” he added.
One of the beneficiaries, who received a hair dryer, expressed her gratitude, saying, “In this economy, I couldn’t afford a hair dryer for my business. When I heard that John Dumelo was sharing some, I came, and luckily, I got one for free. I will give my support to him in the 2024 elections.”
Another beneficiary, who received a sewing machine, shared her appreciation: “He is not in government, but he has done so well for some of us. I want to thank him and wish him the very best. It’s not easy for someone to think about you and buy you a sewing machine for free.”
A third beneficiary also remarked, “I thank him for giving me a sewing machine. I am a madam, so I will give it to one of my apprentices who is struggling with basic tools.”
