A man recounts how, during a past interview, after realizing he wasn’t going to secure the job, he decided to make the most of the situation by joining the boss to eat during his lunch break.

He shared on X (Twitter) how, after noticing that the interview was going poorly and he had little chance of passing it, he did something drastic: he ate the boss’s food.

The boss had come into the office with a plate of food and, out of courtesy, asked if there was anyone who wanted to join him, not expecting a positive reply.

The man, hungry, decided to take the boss up on his offer. He got up, washed his hands, then joined him to eat the amala and ewedu soup, even eating his “shaki” at the end of the meal.

His story has resonated with many Nigerians, who applauded his actions, commending him for making the most of his failed interview.

    He recalled,

“I remember going for a job interview. The boss walked in with food in a takeaway plastic and, out of courtesy, said, ‘Come and eat’ to everyone.

I stood up, washed my hands, and joined him to eat the amala he bought.

He let me eat, but I knew that was my first and last day there.

I don see as the interview dey go, I no get any chances of getting employed and I came on empty stomach.

I even eat ate the man shaki inside hos ewedu stew.

I can’t lose both ways, please,”
