A Jetstar flight between Melbourne and Brisbane was delayed after a man reportedly boarded the plane without a ticket.

Flight JQ562 was due to depart Melbourne Airport at 9.35am on Wednesday. However, news.com.au reported the flight’s departure was pushed back after the alleged incident.

Speaking to 3AW’s Rumour File, one witness claimed the man was initially stopped before boarding but had allegedly found another way onto the aircraft.

Crew on the Airbus A320 reportedly found the man at the rear of the aircraft and called police to have him escorted off.

The flight was delayed half an hour, according to News.com.au.

Jetstar confirmed it responded to a security incident on board the flight, but did not provide further detail.

The Daily Mail has contacted Australian Federal Police for comment.
