Jetstar passengers were left stranded after the airline suffered a nationwide outage with disruptions expected to last well into the evening.

The budget airline confirmed at least four flights had been cancelled after it encountered ‘technical difficulties’ just before 2pm on Saturday.

‘We are experiencing some technical difficulties with our system at the moment,’ a spokesperson for the airline wrote on X.

‘Our team is working hard to get this fixed as soon as possible so we appreciate your patience in the meantime.’

The disruptions were understood to be impacting check-in kiosks at airports around Australia as well as in Bali and Japan.

Jetstar told Daily Mail Australia at 2.50pm the problem had been resolved.

‘An IT issue that impacted our check-in and boarding systems today has now been fixed,’ a spokesperson said.

‘Our operations are returning to normal however there may still be some flow on impacts to flights today.
