Sports journalist Jerome Otchere has advised Asante Kotoko to take their home games seriously and win them if they want to clinch the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League title.

According to him, the complex nature of the GPL requires teams to win the majority of their home matches to garner maximum points, as away fixtures are challenging.

The former Kotoko Express editor urged the team to be consistent in their performances and avoid complacency until they achieve success.

“Kotoko should be careful not to drop points, especially at home. The nature of our league is such that none of the teams will allow you to win away. So, if you’re playing at home, you have to do everything you can to win your matches. If Kotoko really wants to win the league title, they must take their chances, especially in home games.

“But if you’re not winning at home, away games will be tough. They haven’t lost in a while. If you draw, let’s say three games, it’s almost like losing two matches. So, they should keep their focus on winning at home, especially, and making sure they grab some points away if they can,” he told Benjamin Sackey during an interview with GhanaWeb Sports.

Kotoko lost their game against Accra Lions 3-0 in an away fixture, dropping them from the summit of the league table to third position with 47 points.

Bibiani Gold Stars have leapfrogged the Porcupine Warriors to lead the table with 50 points after 27 games played.
