Police rushed to JD Vance‘s home in Cincinnati, Ohio on early Monday morning after the property was vandalized.
Local media outlets reported that several windows at the home were the destroyed as police secured the scene.
Law enforcement claim at least one person is in custody for the break-in, according ABC Cleveland .
The Secret Service arrived to the vandalized property overnight left on Monday morning.
The agency said it is working with the Cincinnati Police Department and the U.S. attorney’s office in order to charge any suspects involved in the property’s damage.
According to Fox19 Now, Secret Service agents alerted police just after midnight about seeing a suspect running from the home.
Local police were seen at the house for ‘several hours’ overnight, going in and out of the vice president’s residence. The Daily Mail has learned that Vance and his family were not home at the tie of the incident.
The Ohio property is the primary residence for the second family outside of their Washington DC home at the Naval Observatory.
