The Sports Director at VfB Stuttgart, Fabian Wohlgemuth, has emphasised that the club is happy it has been able to sign German Ghanaian winger Jamie Leweling to a long-term contract.
The German Bundesliga club on Tuesday, December 17, announced that the winger has signed a new deal that keeps him at the club until 2029.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Fabian Wohlgemuth indicated that it was very important to extend the contract of Jamie Leweling especially when he has become a difference-maker for the team.
“Jamie embodies much of what people associate with the upward development at VfB Stuttgart. It is his honest way of playing football as well as his will and ability to improve that has won him over in the hearts of many of our supporters. Jamie has become a difference maker at VfB,” Fabian Wohlgemuth said.
He continued, “He gives our game important impulses and initiates many decisive moments or is directly involved in them.
“His call-up to the national team is a clear indication of the level of performance Jamie has achieved here in recent months. We are delighted with Jamie’s clear commitment and that we have been able to tie enormous sporting quality to Stuttgart for the long term with this early contract extension.”
Jamie Leweling initially played for VfB on loan in the 2023/2024 season before the club signed him permanently in May of this year.
After committing his future to Stuttgart, he will be eager to do even better for the club in the years ahead.
