Unimpressed ITV viewers have slammed this year’s ‘abysmal’ Christmas Day TV schedule – jeering ‘I didn’t think it could get any worse!’

Multiple ITV programmes will be airing festive editions later this month, but clearly this is not to everyone’s taste.

This includes Loose Women having a Christmas Day special for the very first time in the show’s history.

As the broadcaster shared what they had in store, X users raced to share their grievances – and didn’t mince their words.

One person penned on X: ‘Looks abysmal.’

Another remarked: ‘Loose Women on Christmas Day WOW who needs the big film or anything religious ITV is really pushing the boat out and sparing no expense.’

A third penned: ‘Christ what a terrible lineup for Christmas morning.’

While a fourth wrote: ‘What? Loose Women is being broadcast on Christmas Day? I didn’t think Christmas tv could get any worse!’

Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning will be kicking off ITV’s festivities on December 25.

There will also be a special episode of James Martin’s Christmas Day – with guests Gloria Hunniford and Jodie Kidd.

In the wider schedule, Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies is continuing her mission to get the nation crafting with Sara Davies’ Christmas Craft Off.

Some of her previous guests include Coronation Street actor Tony Maudsley, Scarlette Douglas and Hilary Whitehall.

Love Your Christmas with Alan Titchmarsh and James Martin’s Saturday Morning at Christmas will also be gracing screens during the festive period.

Another programme, Warwick Christmas Castle will offer a behind-the-scenes-glimpse as the 1,000-year-old Warwick Castle transforms into a winter wonderland.

It will be narrated by beloved presenter and comedian Mel Giedroyc.

Furthermore, John Torode and Lisa Faulkner will be serving up their festive inspiration in John and Lisa’s Christmas Kitchen.

Ainsley Harriott welcomes friends including Josie Gibson, Sara Davies and Paul Ainsworth in Ainsley’s Festive Flavours to cook festive treats.

The Fletchers Family Farm At Christmas showcases what happens on a working farm in snowy Austria during the busy festive season.

A festive spin-off follows Liz and the kids as they upcycle and craft for a family Christmas party in Fletcher’s Country Workshop.

Special episodes of James Martin’s New Year’s Morning and Love Your New Year’s Day with Alan Titchmarsh will be seeing in 2026.

Last but not least, Joe Wicks’ New Years Day starts off the new year along with guests including Olly Murs, Tilly Ramsey and Nisha Katona.

It comes after viewers were left similarly left upset with the BBC’s Christmas telly schedule.

The Beeb’s offering includes long-running sitcom Mrs Brown’s Boys, which began in 2011 and will have two specials.

Meanwhile, the show features creator Brendan O’Carroll, 70, portraying foul-mouthed matriarch Agnes Brown.

Other shows on the BBC One schedule include The Night Manager, Amandaland, Death in Paradise and Here We Go.
