Ghanaian entertainment pundit, MC Portfolio, has spoken against politicians’ incessant use of vague and evasive language, particularly the term “pipeline”, to hide the truth and delay accountability.

Speaking during a GhanaWeb X Space discussion aired on September 6, 2025, MC Portfolio called on Ghanaians to reject political ‘jargons’ that serve more to confuse than to inform.

He said it is about time Ghanaians ban politicians from using such statements, adding, “Some of them are making us believe that the word pipeline should be deleted from the dictionaries of these politicians. I think it is about that time that we ban pipelines because it is no longer a word of trust anymore. The dissemination of information at our doorstep is keen to me, so I hope that they will look at that.”

MC Portfolio further emphasised that elected officials have a responsibility to regularly update the public on their projects and progress.

‘$200 million Hollywood film studio remains in the pipeline’ – Rex Omar

“Why should it take citizens to chase politicians for a progress report? We didn’t appoint Rex and his team to just give us deadlines and disappear. When they miss those deadlines, it shouldn’t be up to us to reignite the conversation. We know projections aren’t always met, but there must be accountability,” he added.

His observations came in response to a statement by Presidential Staffer for the Black Star Experience, Rex Omar, who stated that the proposed $200 million Hollywood-style film studio is still in the “pipeline.”

    Background

On May 1, 2025, during the launch of the Black Star Experience, Rex Omar revealed in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb that the government, in partnership with a private entity, had secured $200 million and over 200 acres of land for the development of a state-of-the-art film studio.

He noted that the project would largely be driven by private investment and confirmed that significant land acquisition had already been finalized.
