Kofi Atta-Mills, son of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, during a visit to the residence of the late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings to pay his respects, declined an interview request from a journalist who approached him for comments.

The journalist, holding a microphone, attempted to get Kofi’s remarks about the passing of the former First Lady. However, Kofi quickly responded, making it clear that he wasn’t ready to speak about the event.

Kofi Atta-Mills nonetheless praised the late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, describing her as a “good woman”.

“It’s not my funeral, I beg. She was a good woman, that’s all, but please,” he said to the journalist and walked away.

The former First Lady of Ghana, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, passed away on October 23, 2025, at the age of 76, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.

Reports indicate that she had been unwell prior to her passing.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, played a significant role in Ghanaian politics and social advocacy.

She was widely recognised for her leadership in championing women’s rights and empowering communities across the country.

🇬🇭 ‘It’s not my funeral, so please,’ Kofi Atta-Mills, son of the late President Atta Mills, tells a journalist while departing the Rawlings residence after paying a courtesy visit to commiserate with the family, adding that the late former First Lady was a good woman.
