Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has pleaded with Ghanaians to rally behind the team in their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier against Chad.

Appiah’s call comes after President John Dramani Mahama visited the team’s training session on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the former Juventus midfielder expressed appreciation for the president’s visit while urging Ghanaians to support the Black Stars.

“We were honoured to receive President John Dramani Mahama at our training yesterday. My people, it’s a national call. Let’s all come together and cheer the Black Stars on to victory on Friday,” he shared on social media.

The Black Stars, who have not won any of their last six games, will face Chad on Friday, March 21, 2025.

The team will wrap up their March assignment on Monday, March 24, when they take on Madagascar in Morocco on matchday six of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
