Former General Secretary of the supporters wing of Accra Hearts of Oak, the National Chapters Committee, Maxwell Asabre, has bemoaned the recent predicament of the team in the Ghana Premier League.

He asserted that the poor performances of the Phobians in the league have left most of the fans grieving and highly disappointed.

The staunch Hearts of Oak supporter stated that the players in the team are not delivering, which has rendered the coach, Aboubakar Quattara’s work useless.

Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Asabre advised Quattara to work on the timing of his substitutions and get rid of underperforming players on time during matches.

“We had a very painful experience, not because Gold Stars beat us, but because the team has won two, drawn three, and lost three. At a glance, it is very serious to see that the coach is the problem because he is in charge of the team. However, it appears that the coach is doing his best, but the players are not responding.

“Hearts have had a penchant for replacing coaches within a year, which is worrying. My problem with the coach is the late substitutions. The team is promising, but the players are not responding to the name of the club,” he said in Twi.

Hearts of Oak’s 2024/2025 season performance has been underwhelming as the team has managed to secure nine points, lying 12th on the league table.

Their latest defeat came against league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
