Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah believes it is time for the club to clinch the Ghana Premier League title.

The Porcupine Warriors got their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season underway with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park on Saturday, with Amoah scoring the only goal of the game in the 80th minute.

The win ended Kotoko’s winless run at the Golden City Park.

Having won the FA Cup last season, the former Great Olympics striker believes it is time to lift the Premier League title.

“We want to win the league. We have already won the FA Cup and everything else, including the Toyota Cup, so this is the time for us to win the league,” Amoah told Akoma FM.

“I will urge the fans to always support us in both good and difficult times because, without them, we are nothing. Even when things get tough, they should stand with us,” he added.

Asante Kotoko will now turn their focus to the CAF Confederation Cup campaign, where they will host Nigerian side Kwara United in the first leg of the preliminary round at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 21.
