Nollywood actress, Mary Remmy Njoku shares her thoughts on the symbolic gesture of flower bouquets, suggesting they should be paired with a more significant tangible present.
In an Instagram post, Mary shared thoughts while holding a flower bouquet. A flower, she claimed, is an introductory gesture to a larger present.
Since she can’t cultivate flowers, a meaningful and tangible present should be given instead of a bouquet if the budget for gifts is small.
“A flower bouquet is just the starter, not the main course. It should always come with a proper gift, something tangible. If the budget is tight, skip the starter and go straight to the ‘main’ Biko. After all, I no fit plant am😉
I am an Igbo girl biko. No tag anybody for me o!
Happy Valentine’s day 🙌🏿.”
Netizens posing as women agreed with the actress, asserting that it was appropriate etiquette for flowers to come with a meaningful gift.
