Ghana attacker Andre Ayew Ghana attacker Andre Ayew

Ghana attacker Andre Ayew has admitted that it has not been easy for the players and the fans due to their poor run of form in the French Ligue 1.

Ayew made these remarks following their 3-0 defeat against Strasbourg over the weekend. The defeat leaves them in 17th position on the league table with 12 points.

After the loss, Le Havre fans reacted in a hostile manner and booed the players.

Speaking to the club’s media, Ayew acknowledged the tough situation for both the club and the fans.

“It’s not easy to be at home, hear that, and see that the fans are not happy, but I understand them,” he said.

“We give everything; they also give everything. We are all in this situation together. We cannot give them the wins, and that is what people really expect.

“We are going to try to make them happy, but we really need them. Without them, it’s going to be complicated.

“I know they are still here; they are with us, but in difficult times, we need them more. I can assure them we are going to do everything so that in May, Le Havre will still be in Ligue 1,” he added.

Le Havre will hope to return to winning ways when they take on Stade Briochin in the French Cup before playing Olympique Marseille.
