Cina Soul is a Ghanaian singer

Ghanaian singer Cina Soul has reflected on the situation involving Big Akwes and his repeated verbal abuse toward her.

She emphasised that while the experience did not impact her professionally as an artiste, it took a huge emotional toll on her personally.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM with Doreen Avio, Cina Soul revealed that she had to turn to prayer to help heal from the trauma.

“I don’t think it affected as an artiste, it affected me as a person, a woman, someone’s child and a Christian. The number 1 thing I had to do was to pray” she said.

‘I feel threatened’ – Cina Soul cries out over ‘death threats’ from Big Akwes

When asked how she felt when she saw the video of Big Akwes talking about her, she said it had not been the first time seeing it.

She said, Big Akwes’ choice of words, however, scared her family the most.

“Because it had not been the first time, it was the second time seeing that, the words and the gravity of the description was scary and I think it scared my family even more” Cina Soul added.

A history of verbal attacks

Big Akwes first came under fire in April 2025 after he criticized Cina Soul for some outfits she wore in a dance promo for her album ‘Did I Lie’?

He labelled her appearance “attention-seeking” and body-shamed her, prompting massive backlash.

In response, Max TV issued a public apology to Cina Soul, acknowledging that the remarks were inappropriate.

Big Akwes, unperturbed, refused to apologise and urged viewers to “re‑analyse” the clip.

Big Akwes apologises to Cina Soul

Fast forward to July 2025, Big Akwes issued another set of harsh remarks mixed with threats to Cina Soul on live TV. a development netizens largely condemned.

In a ‘Kiss, Mary and Kill’ game, Akwes was asked to choose who he would marry and kill between actress Vivian Jill and Cina Soul.

Big Akwes responded that he would marry Vivian Jill and “kill Cina Soul.”

He even gave a bizarre description about how he would use a magic mirror to spiritually summon her, repeatedly stab her with a knife, and then drink her blood.

Cina Soul’s first response

Shaken and “deeply unsettled,” Cina Soul took to social media, tagging the Ghana Police Service and the Ministry of Communications, to express her fear and urge swift action, stating that she now felt genuinely threatened.
