Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been named winner of the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month award for February, earning recognition for his standout strike for Leicester City.

The Ghanaian winger’s effort was voted the best goal in the division for the month, highlighting his growing influence in Leicester City’s campaign. Despite the individual accolade, Issahaku remained focused on the team’s overall performance and league position.

Reacting to the award, the 20-year-old expressed gratitude but stressed the need for improvement. He noted that while the recognition boosts his confidence, his primary focus remains helping the team secure better results.

Issahaku emphasised his commitment to contributing goals and assists, adding that it is always rewarding to see hard work pay off on the pitch. However, he admitted it was difficult to fully celebrate the achievement given the club’s current situation.

Leicester City are battling to maintain their status in the Championship, and Issahaku called for greater effort from the squad in the final stretch of the season. He urged his teammates to stay focused and continue working hard to ensure the club avoids relegation.

The award marks another milestone in the young winger’s promising career as he continues to develop in English football.
