Veteran sports journalist, Dan Kwaku Yeboah has raised concerns about the inconsistencies in prophecies delivered by Ghanaian prophets regarding the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

During the 31st Night services in December 2025, some prophets, including Nigel Gaisie, indicated that the Black Stars would excel at the tournament and reach the finals. He later clarified that he was not referring to the grand finale.

Pastor Eric-Boahen Uche also claimed that Spain would emerge champions of the Mundial, while other pastors made different proclamations about the tournament.

Reacting to this, the Peace FM sports journalist expressed doubts about the authenticity of the claims, saying that the same God does not give different messages to his servants on a particular topic.

According to him, God is consistent in his messaging, citing the story of Moses leading the Israelites to the Promised Land.

“The messages give us the impression that they are serving different gods. Because if it is one God, He cannot give three different messages to three people. When God sent Moses to lead His people to the Promised Land, it was a single message which was delivered until he handed over to Joshua.

“So on the same night, we believe in one God, so how could He deliver three different messages on the same subject matter? In any case, football is not a spiritual exercise, is it? ” he said in Twi during an interview with Vida Adutwumwaa shared on YouTube.

Kwaku Yeboah added that if football was about spirituality, then countries like Benin should be among the giants winning trophies.

“There are nations that are very strong spiritually who should be winning AFCON, like Benin. But it took a Ghanaian to qualify them for the tournament, yet people want to go there for power,” he added.
