Iran’s state media has been pushing the idea of quitting a non-proliferation treaty and are pushing to seek a nuclear bomb in defiance of the US and Israel.
Two senior Iranian officials said that with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) now dominant since the death of Supreme Leader Khamenei, hardline views are on the rise in Iran’s leadership.
Meanwhile, Israel’s military said they completed a ‘wide-scale wave of strikes’ in the ‘heart of Tehran’, targeting government infrastructure.
US President Trump is also preparing to send 10,000 more ground troops to the Middle East, the Wall Street Journal reported, as the President continues to say talks with Iran are ‘going well’.
Thai cargo ship believed to have run aground after Iran attack
A Thai-flagged cargo ship that came under attack from Iran while passing through the Strait of Hormuz was abandoned by its crew and is believed to have run aground.
Thailand’s Foreign Ministry said today that the Iranian and Omani authorities were able to reach the Mayuree Naree on a rescue mission, as three sailors remain unaccounted for. The ship came under attack on March 11.
The semi-official Tasnim and Fars news agencies, believed to be close to Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, reported that the ship ran aground near the village of Ramchah on Qeshm Island.

The US President said Iran had requested the extension, which Iran denied.

Israel’s military said they struck the ‘heart’ of Iran’s capital last night in a ‘wide-scale wave of strikes’, targeting the government’s infrastructure.
State media in Iran reported explosions being heard in the capital and air defences ‘confronting hostile targets’.
Israel said it had struck air defences and missile sites across Iran overnight, adding the attacks were ‘targeted’ at sites used to produce weapons, primarily ballistic missile.
The IDF said their Air Force hit ‘missile launchers and missile storage sites’ in western Iran.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) are now dominant following the death of Supreme Leader Khamenei, so hardline views on Iran’s nuclear stance are on the rise, the sources told Reuters.
The West has always believed Iran wants the nuclear bomb, but the state has always denied this, saying Khamenei had banned nuclear arms as forbidden in Islam.
But serious voices inside the government are now reportedly questioning the existing policy and demanding a change.
