    The Minister of Interior, Mohammed Muntaka-Mubarak, has announced that the nationwide recruitment exercise for security services has been postponed from Saturday, November 15, to Monday, November 17, 2025.

    He made this known during a press conference on Friday, November 14, 2025.

    According to Muntaka Mubarak, the recruitment for the Police, Immigration and Prisons Service will resume on Monday, with a revised schedule to be published in national newspapers, shared on official social media platforms and circulated through the relevant ministries and agencies.

    “The application process will begin on Monday, November 17, 2025, it will be published in the national dailies on the ministries and each agency’s website and on social media platforms”, he noted.

    The El-Wak incident affected 28 applicants, leaving 12 in critical condition, five receiving care in the Intensive Care Unit, and six confirmed dead.

    A separate recruitment exercise in Kumasi also resulted in five injuries.

    The Ministry has assured the public that enhanced safety measures will be put in place to prevent further incidents, as investigations into the tragedy continue.
