The National Service Authority has disclosed that all public institutions that reject personnel without valid reasons risk punitive measures, including blacklisting from future postings.

The Acting Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh, made this known during a press briefing on Monday, December 15, 2025.

She noted that she has formally written to the Office of the President to ensure that these institutions accept their allocated national service personnel.

“We have formally written through our Supervisor Ministry to the Office of the President to insist that all ministries, departments, agencies and government institutions) that are located service personnel must honour their quotas.

“Further, the institutions who reject personnel must, without valid reasons, and official release letters, will be subjected to punitive actions, including blacklisting them from subsequent postings”, she noted.

Dela Seddoh said such last-minute rejection of personnel undermine the very spirit of the national service program.

“These frustrations are unacceptable. We have moved beyond appeals,” she said, stressing that the Authority is leveraging the highest levels of government to enforce compliance.

She condemned the treatment some personnel receive, noting that many are sent away without dignity or respect.

“This is not a request for convenience; it is a demand for operational integrity, national responsibility, and respect for our future leaders,” she stated.

Assuring service personnel that their concerns are being addressed, she urged institutions to plan for, accept, and integrate their quotas.

“Do not shirk this responsibility. Let us build a system defined not by last-minute rejections, but by seamless transitions and mutual respect,” she said.
