By NIKKI SCHWAB, CHIEF CAMPAIGN CORRESPONDENT FOR DAILYMAIL.COM IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

    Published: 10:15 EDT, 7 April 2025 | Updated: 10:52 EDT, 7 April 2025

President Donald Trump tried to hold his MAGA coalition together Monday morning, urging supporters to not ‘be a PANICAN.’

Trump rolled out the new term and described it as a ‘new party based on Weak and Stupid people!’

He then, again, doubled down on his tariff policy.

‘The United States has a chance to do someting that should have been done DECADES AGO,’ the president posted to Truth Social. ‘Don’t be Weak! Don’t be Stupid! Don’t be a PANICAN … Be Strong, Courageous, and Patient, and GREATNESS will be a result!’

The demand came as a new MAGA civil war appeared to be breaking out.

Over the weekend, DOGE leader Elon Musk was publicly critical of Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro and pushed that the U.S. and Europe needed to move toward a ‘zero-tariff situation.’

Currently Trump plans to apply a 20 percent tariff onto imports from the European Union, while imports from the United Kingdom would get hit with a 10 percent import tax.

Musk also took a dig at Navarro’s Harvard education, calling it a ‘bad thing, not a good thing,’ and said that the longtime Trump trade adviser ‘ain’t built s***.

In turn, Navarro described Musk as a ‘car salesman’ during an interview on Fox News on Sunday and said Musk was being critical of the Trump tariffs due to his own business interests.

‘He’s got X. He’s got a big microphone. We don’t mind him saying whatever he wants, but the American people need to understand that we know what this is all about,’ Navarro said.

‘Elon, when he’s in his DOGE lane, is great. But we understand what is going on here. Elon sells cars,’ Navarro added.

There was already a MAGA divide between Musk and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, who at one point referred to the DOGE leader as a ‘parasitic illegal immigrant.’

Other MAGA voices who have been critical of the Trump tariff plan include The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro.

During Friday’s episode of his podcast Shapiro called the tariffs ‘probably unconstitutional’ and ‘pretty crazy.’

MAGA billionaire Bill Ackman penned an eyebrow-raising warning Sunday night.

‘The President has an opportunity on Monday to call a time out and have the time to execute on fixing an unfair tariff system. Alternatively, we are heading for a self-induced, economic nuclear winter, and we should start hunkering down,’ Ackman wrote on X. ‘May cooler heads prevail.’

Ackman also accused Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick of benefiting financially from the stock market crash – a comment he later apologized for.

A handful of Republican senators have also warned against Trump’s tariff policy.

Notably, Sen. Ted Cruz, who’s generally supportive of Trump’s agenda, knocked the tariff plan.

‘Tariffs are a tax on consumers, and I’m not a fan of jacking up taxes on American consumers,’ Cruz said Thursday on Fox Business. ‘So my hope is these tariffs are short-lived and they serve as leverage to lower tariffs across the globe.’
