Undisputed world 122-pound champion Naoya “The Monster” Inoue (30-0, 27 KOs) and WBA interim titlist Murodjon “MJ” Akhmadaliev (14-1, 11 KOs) faced each other at the press conference on Friday in Nagoya, Japan. Naoya, 32, said, “I’d like to cautiously cope with Akhmadalieve and wish to be finally victorious in the end.” The Uzbekistani southpaw said, “I have been patient for this opportunity to fight Inoue for two years. I’ve come here to make history by defeating Inoue after I show a good performance.” Their confrontation will take place at the newly completed IG Arena in the center of Nagoya on Sunday.

In the world title tripleheader, WBO bantam ruler Yoshiki Takei (11-0, 9 KOs) will face top contender Christian Medina (25-4, 18 KOs), from Mexico. Also, WBA#1 Yuni Takada (16-8-3, 6 KOs) and WBA#2 Ryusei Matsumoto (6-0, 4 KOs; amateur 79-16), both of Japan, will collide in quest of the vacant WBO 105-pound belt.
