Marking his 10th year as FIFA President, Gianni Infantino has singled out Ghana as a model of football development under FIFA’s global support initiatives.

“Ghana has been one of the Member Associations making excellent use of the FIFA Forward and other FIFA Support Programmes over the years,” Infantino stated in an exclusive message.

He highlighted significant upgrades at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, including new floodlights, a 30-bed accommodation facility for teams, and two newly constructed pitches—one artificial and one natural turf.

Further expanding Ghana’s football infrastructure, Infantino announced the inauguration of a new technical centre in Winkogo, northern Ghana.

The FIFA President also commended Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku for boosting football participation, particularly among women, through programs under the FIFA Talent Development Scheme.

“Women’s football has accelerated in Ghana, with FIFA support for the National Women’s League playing a key role in the Black Queens’ qualification for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in 2024,” Infantino noted.

Highlighting Ghana’s achievements on the international stage, he praised the Black Stars for their historic back-to-back FIFA World Cup qualifications, first for Qatar 2022 and now for Canada, Mexico, and the United States 2026.

“Ghana continues to demonstrate what is possible when vision, investment, and talent come together,” Infantino concluded, celebrating the nation’s steady rise in world football.
