Athletic Club manager, Ernesto Valverde, has expressed doubt over the possibility of Inaki Williams honouring the call-up for the Black Stars’ games against Angola and Niger.
The striker missed Athletic’s draw against Real Valladolid on Sunday, November 10, 2024, due to an injury.
Speaking after the game, Valverde opined that Inaki may not be available for Ghana after missing the game on Sunday.
“I don’t think he’ll be able to play this time because he hasn’t been able to be here with us,” he said.
Inaki Williams was named in Otto Addo’s 25-man squad for the final two games in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Spanish-born Ghanaian picked up a muscle injury during Athletic’s 2-1 win over Ludogorets Razgrad on Thursday, November 7.
At the moment, there has not been an update from the club on the severity of the injury and how long he will be out.
Ghana will face Angola on November 15 in Luanda before hosting Niger on November 18 to close the qualifying series.
