Ghana forward Inaki Williams returned to action for Athletic Club on November 28, 2024, helping his team secure a 3-0 triumph over IF Elfsborg in the Europa League.

The match marked his comeback after an injury setback earlier this month, which had kept him out of Ghana’s recent qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Williams, who had missed two crucial games for the Black Stars, started for Athletic Club on the flanks in the Round 5 encounter. Despite not being fully match-fit, the 30-year-old delivered a solid performance but was substituted in the 56th minute for Alex Berenguer.

His younger brother, Nico Williams, also played a key role in the victory, providing the assist for Bernard Prados’ second goal of the match.

Athletic Club’s dominance continued with additional goals from Adama Boiro and Gorka Guruzeta, securing a comfortable 3-0 win.

Inaki Williams is expected to continue building his fitness as he gears up for Athletic Club’s La Liga fixture against Rayo Vallecano this weekend.
